Will Levis’ five improvements pointed out by Tennessee Titans head coach.cau

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan has admitted he was impressed with Will Levis’ most recent performance after returning to the team from a shoulder injury.

Levis had missed the last three games with Mason Rudolph impressing as his back-up, before rookie head coach Callahan chose to add his second-year starter back into the starting position in a decision that looked to have paid off.

Despite the Titans losing the game, Levis completed 18-of-23 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions on the day. This had been despite him being under constant duress in front of Tennessee’s struggling offensive line.

After evaluating Levis’ performance in the loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Callahan said: “I did see progress and there were a lot of things I did feel positive about coming out of that game with Will, with where he is at.

“Not turning the ball over, not putting the ball in harms way, being smart, running, sliding – all those things were improvements… I saw growth in Wills play in this game, I really did. There was improvement.”

The Titans know that they are in rebuild mode with the worst record in the NFL, with Levis now having eight games left to prove himself that he should be the starting quarterback moving forward.

Drafted with the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft class after an unlikely fall, Levis joined the team with many hoping to see him become the franchise starter – outplaying both Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis in his rookie season.

Levis has been dealt a difficult hand since joining the Titans, with the team having one of the worst offensive lines in the league, and continuing to struggle in his second season – giving up seven sacks against the Chargers.

The sophomore pro will know he’ll need to impress in the teams second-half of the season for the Titans to potentially ignoring the likes of Shedeur Sanders, Carson Beck and Quinn Ewers in the draft – hoping Tennessee instead opts to build the team around him.
