Anticipating his first Father’s Day, Aaron Judge already knows “it’s going to be pretty special,’’ with his youngest fan at Fenway Park.
Nearly five months old, Nora Rose will be in the arms of Judge’s wife Samantha, and the Yankee captain’s parents Wayne and Patty will be there, too.
“He’s definitely my hero,’’ Aaron Judge said of his dad, recalling “how many times I’d annoy him as a little kid coming home from school and wanting to play in the front yard.’’
An educator, Wayne Judge would have been teaching all day, “probably wanting to relax, watch a show, have a sandwich, do something else,’’ said Judge.
“But he’d never bat an eye. ‘Grab a glove, grab a ball, meet you outside.’”

From those late afternoons at their Linden, California, home, to the heights of fame in New York, “that’s always something that stuck with me,’’ Judge said of wanting to “bring that same unselfishness’’ as a teammate.
And now, as a parent.
Judge thinks of his own parents’ sacrifice for their children, and how his dad “pushed me not only to be good on any field I was playing, but also in the classroom.
“Be a great student, be a great classmate. He definitely prepared me for this opportunity,’’ said Judge, having his finest season in a Cooperstown-worthy career.
After a rare night off from the lineup Thursday, his first of the year, Judge takes an MLB-leading .392 batting average and 1.264 OPS into this weekend’s Boston series, with 25 home runs in 67 games.
Pretty amazing stuff, Yankees starter Max Fried acknowledged. “And then you see the work he puts in every day’’ to achieve it, not taking a moment of self-satisfaction.
“He needs to be called up,’’ said manager Aaron Boone. “To a higher league.’’
Of her dad’s remarkable prime, Nora will have a few mementos kept for her but fewer memories, though “she’ll probably know how to use a phone in a year and pull up what she wants,’’ Judge says with a laugh.
Of his own Father’s Day wishes, well it “definitely’’ starts “with a win’’ against the Red Sox.
“But getting a chance’’ to see his daughter in the stands “see her smile, knowing she’ll be at the game, that’ll be the best gift for me,’’ Judge said.
“That’s a good Father’s Day for me.’’
