Since May 31, the Los Angeles Dodgers slugger has gone on an offensive rampage that has drawn comparisons to one of the greatest seasons in Major League Baseball history. According to OptaSTATS, Muncy has:
3 games with 6 or more RBIs
3 multi-homer games
2 games with 7+ RBIs
2 games with multiple 3+ run home runs
2 grand slams

This incredible surge of production puts him in elite company — the only other player in MLB history to accomplish all of these feats in a single season was Jimmie Foxx during his iconic 1938 MVP campaign.

Muncy’s recent dominance at the plate isn’t just impressive — it’s historically rare. The Dodgers’ infielder has combined power, timing, and clutch hitting to devastate opposing pitchers over the last month.

His ability to consistently drive in runs in bunches and go deep multiple times in games has added a massive boost to the Dodgers’ offense, already one of the most feared in baseball.

To fully appreciate Muncy’s accomplishment, it’s worth remembering who he’s being compared to. Jimmie Foxx, one of the greatest hitters in baseball history, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1951 and was known for his monstrous power and unmatched run-producing ability.

Max Muncy becomes first player to reach in 12 straight plate appearances in single postseason

Matching a stat line last seen in the pre-World War II era only amplifies how special Muncy’s stretch has been.

Max Muncy isn’t just hot — he’s rewriting history. In a sport that spans generations, his recent performance stands as a modern-day marvel. If he continues this pace, don’t be surprised to hear his name enter the MVP conversation — and the record books.
