THE “UNBEATABLE” DUOS IN MLB HISTORY – WHEN THEY STARTED FROM THE SAME HIGH SCHOOL!.Y1

July 17, 2025 by mrs a

Over the 150-year history of Major League Baseball, we have seen countless legendary duos make history with their catch-matching, bat-breaking throws, and stadium-shattering homers. But what if these two superstars… went to the same high school? The names below are not only testaments to natural talent, but also living proof that sometimes destiny begins in 10th grade gym class.

1. Eddie Murray & Ozzie Smith – Locke High (Los Angeles, CA)
Two Hall of Famers, one a 500-plus home run hitter (Murray), the other a defensive wizard with 13 Gold Gloves (Smith). Attending Locke High together, this duo made all of California look up before entering MLB history with permanent honorary plaques.

2. Max Fried, Jack Flaherty & Lucas Giolito – Harvard-Westlake School (Los Angeles, CA)
One of the most famous “pitcher factories” in history. If a team owning just one of these three is a dream, Harvard-Westlake once had… all three at the same time. Giolito – an All-Star. Flaherty – one of the Orioles’ key pitchers. Fried – the Atlanta Braves’ ace and World Series winner. This is the “invisible” combination on the high school field.

3. Matt Chapman & Nolan Arenado – El Toro High (Lake Forest, CA)
When two of the best defensive third basemen in MLB were in the same class and shared the same field, you know it’s no coincidence. Arenado – 10 consecutive Gold Gloves. Chapman – 4 Gold Gloves and still a nightmare for every left fielder. They were not only rivals in the majors, but also close childhood teammates.

4. Kyle Tucker & Pete Alonso – Plant High (Tampa, FL)
Tucker – a mainstay of the Houston Astros. Alonso – the “Polar Bear” known for his explosive Home Run Derby hits. Few would have guessed that this duo once walked together in the Plant High uniform, where every swing could be a prophecy for the future of MLB.

5. Corona High (CA) Stars – The Miracle of 2025 MLB Draft
Four names selected in the same MLB Draft from a public school? That is no longer normal. Although they are not as famous as the seniors above, in the near future, Corona High can completely add a few more names to the list of “from the classroom straight to the All-Star stage”.

You may have dreamed of hitting the ball next to your best friend in high school. But in these cases, that dream has become a reality… literally, on the largest scale on the planet. These duos (and trios) who went to school together, grew up together, and then took MLB by storm together are testaments to what sports destiny is – where talent shines not alone, but together.

So if you’re practicing with your buddies in the backyard of your school… who knows? History could be being rewritten, a pitch in some gym class.
