Adoptober: “Sweet girl” seeks new home

seeking home

Four-year-old Fallow came into the care of following sensitive circumstances in her home life which caused a lot of distress and upheavel.

Although initially nervous, Fallow’s wonderful personality quickly won everyone over and it did not take long for her to be adopted. Sadly though, Fallow was returned to us after a short stay in her new home as she was taking a while to settle in and was distracted by outside sounds, as the home was located in a very built up area.

Fallow was otherwise perfect in the home, she would sleep throughout the night and proved to be clean and non-destructive.

Fallow is a very sweet girl with a lovely temperament, who is also very playful and loves toys – especially playing fetch with a tennis ball! She is an active girl who is happiest running around our exercise field and going for long walks when she feels safe.

Fallow is an anxious girl and can be sensitive to loud noises. She can lack confidence so needs a family who can support her and help build on this. She is suspicious of new people but once introduced she will make friends for life! Fallow can be reactive towards some dogs and small animals.

She is a favourite amongst our volunteer dog walkers as when there are no distractions, Fallow is a joy to walk and despite her size she walks really well on the lead. She is in good health with no ongoing medical concerns.

Freshfields Staff are looking for an experienced owner for Fallow, preferably someone who is familiar with nervous dogs. She will require a very secure garden with fencing of at least 6 foot, and cannot live with other animals.

Fallow has previously lived with young children – however as she can be noise sensitive, the rescue staff are looking for a home where any children are aged 16+. Fallow would benefit from an active home and could be left alone for a couple of hours once she is settled in.
