The ‘Beautiful Soul’ singer and his wife announced their exciting pregnancy news with Valentine’s Day-themed photos on Feb. 14
Jesse McCartney is going to be a boy dad!
The “Beautiful Soul” singer, 37, and his wife Katie Peterson, 37, enlisted the help of their dog Bailey for their sex reveal, which they uploaded on Instagram on Tuesday, March 4. The couple, who wed in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in 2021, sat outside with Bailey on a neutral-colored blanket with a sign reading “boy or girl” placed at the front.
“You’re going to be a big sister,” McCartney told Bailey, before the two began counting down from three. Then, they closed their eyes and opened the picnic basket in front of them to reveal the baby’s sex.
As soon as McCartney saw the blue collar, his mouth dropped open and his hand flew into the air, before pumping his fist in the air and saying, “It’s a boy! No way!” The happy couple embraced at the end of the video, relishing in the exciting news as McCartney sweetly became teary-eyed.The couple announced through a joint Instagram post on Friday, Feb. 14, that they are expecting their first baby together. McCartney and Peterson shared a series of Valentine’s Day-themed photos to celebrate the happy news.
The couple posed in “mom” and “dad” monogrammed pajamas and used their hands to form a heart over Peterson’s growing baby bump. They closed out their post with a sonogram photo surrounded by red roses and hearts that read “Baby Mac” and “Aug. 2025.”
In addition to their Instagram post, the couple also shared a series of beach-set exclusive photos with PEOPLE taken by photographer Anna Sokol, celebrating their pregnancy news.On his Instagram Stories, the singer also chronicled the exact moment the parents-to-be shared their news with the world.
“Alright, here we go,” McCartney can be heard saying in a video as the couple prepare to post their Instagram from one of their phones. “About to share with the world.”
Peterson, laughing nervously, added, “I’m scared,” before they then pressed the upload button together, sending the photos out for the world to see
