In a resurfaced clip after Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested, Justin Bieber admitted to wanting to “protect” Billie Eilish.

The 30-year-old star was allegedly “deeply shaken” after Diddy’s arrest, as he was close to the mogul at the beginning of his career. Justin was even featured on a song on Diddy’s album last year.

Among the resurfaced videos of Justin and Diddy, an interview Justin did with Zane Lowe in 2020 showed Justin getting emotional as he spoke about his ‘encounters’ in the music industry. Through tears, the singer added he didn’t want the same to happen to younger singers like Billie.

Speaking about his journey in the music industry, Justin told Zane: “It was hard for me being the music industry and being that young and not knowing where to turn and everyone, you know, telling me they loved me, and, you know, just turn your back on you in a second.”

He was in tears as he emotionally added that if Billie ever needed him “I’m going to be here for her.” The singer continued: “Yeah, just protecting those moments because people take for granted… encounters… and… I just want to protect her.”

“I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that upon anybody,” he candidly admitted. After Diddy’s arrest, various videos of Justin and Diddy together are being looked at in a different light.

In a video of 15-year-old Justin and then 40-year-old Diddy, the disgraced mogul told the camera that he was given “custody” of Justin and that he couldn’t discuss what Justin and he were going to do together. “He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose,” Diddy said in the video.

“I have been given custody of him. He’s signed to Usher and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album,” he continued, “I don’t have legal guardianship of him [Bieber] but for the next 48 hours he’s with me and we’re gonna go full crazy.”

A source told PEOPLE recently that in the aftermath of Diddy’s arrest, Justin has been focusing on being “a great dad and husband” and is “in a happy bubble” after recently welcoming his first child with his wife, Hailey Bieber.
