Kane is the first country artist to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards

This year, Kane’s new single, Grand – from his upcoming third album, Different Man – has been nominated for Song of the Summer. He will also perform the track from the Toyota Stage and promises that it will be a performance the VMAs “haven’t seen before”.
As a country artist, many could consider Kane to be an ‘outsider’ at the VMAs, but he’s certainly not been made to feel that way. Speaking exclusively to HELLO! US, Kane revealed how he really feels about performing in front of artists from different musical genres to his own.

“I am a country artist, and it was what I listened to as part of my growing up but I am a fan of artists in multiple genres,” he told us ahead of the ceremony.
“I feel like people tend to be fans of each other even if they are from other backgrounds,” he added. “There’s respect there between the artists and they have been really great.”

Alongside his debut VMA performance, Kane has another reason to be excited as his third studio album will be released on 9 September.
Opening up about Different Man – his first album in four years – Kane admitted that he hopes it will help people get to know him better.
“I feel like the album is one that sort of captures where we’ve been but also where I am in life and musically,” he told us.
Kane added: “I just want people to listen to it and feel like they know more about me, what I am about, and that they can relate something in their life to it, and that they know they are and feel like part of our family.”
