Netflix users are still continuing to praise the brilliance of the Marvel action drama series The Punisher seven years after its initial release.
Despite being out for almost a decade now, viewers can’t get enough of the series based on the famous Marvel comic book character that many thought was “done perfectly.” The Punisher initially premiered on Netflix on Nov. 17, 2017 and has been met with rave reviews ever since.
The thrilling series created by Steve Lightfoot, stars talented actors Jon Bernthal, Amber Rose Revah, Ben Barnes, Giorgia Whigham as they tell the story of the famed anti-hero. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the series follows the Punisher as he seeks revenge on those who murdered his family and uses deadly methods to fight crime.

This series was a poplar spin-off from the first Marvel series, Daredevil, that also premiered on Netflix. In this show, the Punisher is also involved as Daredevil attempts to stop him from crossing immoral lines while recognizing the pain that drives his actions.
And as viewers continue to revisit the Punisher to this day, many took to a newly-posted Reddit thread sharing their thoughts on the timeless show. One fan wrote: “It’s my favorite live action version of the Punisher. It’s so good from start to finish, both seasons. Jon killed it.” Another agreed: “I loved it. And as a veteran, it nailed a lot of the emotional trauma.”
Another complimented: “Netflix Punisher is just another interpretation of the character for me. I feel so lucky we got Bernthal to portray Frank. That guy gave his all to the character. He was just incredible to watch and it ended for me craving more of him in the skull vest.”
While a fourth chimed in: “I have come to enjoy the slow burn of Netflixs punisher. He doesnt blow up everything every day, but when he gets mad, oh man watch out.” Someone else simply wrote: “It was a realistic take on the Punisher and it was done perfectly.”
